Put A Halt on Women Voilence

WHO - Violence against woman“The thing women have yet to learn is nobody gives you power. You just take it.”-Roseanne Barr,a well known American Actress,Writer television producer, director and 2012 presidential nominee of the California-based Peace and Freedom Party.

And it is very truly said,Being a responsible citizen I really want Indian Women and the Women around the world to stand up and fight for injustice, crime, atrocities happening with them because no one would ever know the pain of a Woman until you are a Woman. So,stand up for yourself and make this world follow the suite, show them the true potential you hold to change the world and make it a better place to live in and once you stand up for yourself you will find millions standing with you, supporting you and joining hands with you to fight the evil out of this world.

Some statistics

Women Crime 2011(NCRB Data)

Women Crime 2011(NCRB Data)

Here is the NCRB-Crime Against Women data.

The amount of Crime against Women in India is on the rise with each passing day.Crimes like Rapes,Female Foeticide,Dowry,Child Marriages,Honor Killing,Domestic Violence all has piled up in recent times and now the time has come to put a halt on it.People who commit such crimes feel that the women are weak and thus can easily be suppressed.

But the main concern still remains that is ‘How can we put a halt to such crimes?’.To me until and unless we change our perception towards Women and Girls such thing will always be there and the best means to change one’s perception is education, illiteracy is main root to all evil, once we are educated well enough our concise will always make us a better one for the society.Apart from that promoting specific morals or values may be controversial,as such efforts are often associated with repressive and narrowly defined visions of the common good. Moral capabilities are essential, but the means to develop them must be consistent with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, aimed at fostering the spiritual, social and intellectual development of all people.

Such capabilities can be taught in schools but will not be effective unless they take root in family and community.Neighbours, educators, health workers, employers, politicians, religious leaders, police, media professionals–all share responsibility for the protection of women.Promoting the eradication of elements in traditional norms and religious beliefs, practices and stereotypes which legitimise and exacerbate the persistence and tolerance of violence against women and children.Introducing and supporting gender sensitisation and public awareness programmes aimed at eradicating violence against women and children.Encouraging the media to play a constructive role in the eradication of violence against women and children by adopting guidelines which ensure sensitive coverage of the issue and avoid the perpetuation of stereotypes.

To make this all happen and to stop the crime against women we must rise up and stand together and pledge to make this world a better place to live in for Women.

This Post is written for Indichnage Campaing-Write the Change Ring The Bell for my support in the power collective actions of responsible citizen of the society to bring a change,a change  that we all want.

Ending on a Positive Note I promise to ring the bell by:-by educating the society and spreading awareness among my fellow citizens about the atrocities on Women and how to fight and overcome them.

    • vvpVijay its each & every individuals responsibility to fight & make the law Gender Equal not biased & focused on Womens only without protection to Men or Husband.
So I m creating awareness can I expect same? as I found tht U dnt have tht old Gender Biased mentality which generally Indian males have……

  2. Nice post and the points you mentioned here have strong sense. Violence it self is bad – on women or men. Our duty is to stop the violence, not that I suffered, so it your turn now.

There are enough law in the form of articles, rulings, judgements to handle such issue, but the problem lies in the implementation.

Most violence starts from home, where one is there – father, mother, brother, sister, husband, wife, in-laws and all.. We all are responsible for these domestic violences.

    • Finally someone who wrote really Gender Neutral.

It is otherwise very difficult for society to AGREE that CRIME HAS NO GENDER.

      • I don’t know why r you so obsessed with one thing..If you really think we men are being victims of cruelty, why don’t just do something about it rather than commenting or putting your views…..I agree there is atrocities on both the gender so as responsible citizen stop complaining and start do something rather than showing you as a helpless fellow….

      • From a writer of this blog, such a kind of response is Unwelcome but I am used to it as most men who are working towards demonizing men and ignoring their problems generally react the same way when shown the mirror.

What I shared with you till now was not part of Arm-Chair-Activism.

As I feel, you dint bother to see the links I shared with you in earlier response otherwise you would have known that the Blogs I Shared are my blogs and if you see those blogs, you would have seen the activites we do.

We are the Politically MOST incorrect NGOs who work for Men’s Rights.

You may not agree because you are not effected or rather too easy thinking that you will not be a victim of Gender Biased Laws.

As one of the commenters commented, solution of war is not raging another war.

So even if one assumes that all the “TOLD” story of Crime Against Women are true, replacing it with #CrimeAgainstMen is not right.

48 laws already, millions of dollar already, 1000 of campaigns like “Ring The Bell” already and still what we say is disliked by those very people for whom we say.

    • Biased reports or rather flawed reports with wrong media interpretation gives these thoughts. Husband and relatives are the biggest victims of the cruelty done by Women at homes.

      • Look I am not demonizing men or the crime against men,I think you have not gone through my post properly whereby I have mentioned of Gender Sanitization and the importance of Education,I always fail to understand when someone talks about one crime and provide possible solutions to it doesn’t mean that it is for that Crime only.
Tell Me if Gender Sanitization and Education is imparted properly does the Crime against Men as well as Women will exist…
I am not trying to generalize here, the point is you are talking about Crime on Men and I am about the other but in both the case if we are able to eradicate this things will it not be a better place to live in.
Its good you’re doing your bit and I am doing mine,if we success then obviously the benefit will towards society,I have clearly mentioned in my post that I want a better society where we Human can and will hold onto our Morals and Values and By human i mean not only Women or Men rather both of them.
We are on the same boat so it is really necessary to always write Gender Bias, this and that,by looking at your comment I really feel that rather than Gender Equality you’re fighting for Gender Bias….

      • Thanks a lot Mate.

I agree to your basic agreement about Education is the prime way that most of the society issues can be solved.

If you, please read carefully, what I was doing was educating readers like you about a thing which is not even accepted in India, a big social problem called “Crime Against Men”.

I am happy, that you atleast took it seriously because otherwise we see society only making FUN of #CrimeAgainstMen.

We are working on our bits.

For me, personally Crime Against Men is a bigger issue to handle primarily because Husband suicides in India is more than double to that of wives and media / politicians / lawmakers / Women orgs just hide this fact so much that innocent citizens just keep getting dose about Crime Against Women only and that too based on biased “assumed” laws.

I would love to see and rather request if you could put an Article about NCRB data on Husband Suicides (for last 20 years). A fact which goes brushed under the carpet for ages. This request comes because of your liberal mind frame and having the guts to call Spade a spade (based on what you feel).

      • Thanks Mate.

Let me know in case, you dont see the data available on Internet.

By the way, this isnt for any personal agenda.

    • Thank You… 🙂
Yes we know it is tough to eradicate such crimes…But we must try our best in every possible way we can and hopefully things will change for good…

      • What is wrong with you guys..Haven’t you read my entire post properly…I have clearly mentioned about Gender Sensitization and Education to impart in a proper way so as to build a better society to live in….I am not generalizing anything here just trying to make the society aware and my emphasis is on Education…But you guys just for the sake of promoting, has given a whole new meaning to my post…Because of People like you is still out there we are not able to build a better society…and before commenting read the post carefully and if you don’t understand ask for it I will be more than happy to make you guys Understand….Remember I could have Unapprove your comment rather I approved it because I want all the people whoever reads my post is that I am not here to Generalize things rather my focus is to build a better and educated society…I think you got my point…

      • Dear Harsha, why are you taking it that way that someone is misunderstanding you. Are you saying NO to knowledge which is there but society chooses to ignore under guise of women empowerment?

I thought you would be much more open to this side of data too.

  3. Very strong points there. I strongly believe society has to be more alert to the happenings around. We have to educate the mass, the coming generations, it is a huge responsibility. I am glad at least there is awareness on this today.

    • Yes you are right….And I think Eduction is the important key here not only the crimes on Women but even others crimes can be minimized if not completely eradicate,if the society educated in the right direction…

  4. Surprisingly, even with more men getting killed, murdered, commiting suicide, ending lives etc etc, concern is only for 1 gender. Is India really Gender Neutral? Because most feminists “think” themselves to be Gender Neutral.

    • India is Gender Neutral..But the Fact is crimes on Men doesn’t happen as much as it happens on Women and Moreover Women are subjected to atrocities which men don’t have to suffer atleast in India…

      • Sorry, misconceptions are common in India. Pick data from National Crime Records Bureau and see for yourself that Men are 75% Murder victims, 82% Road Accident victims, 67% Suicide victims, 99% war victims, 40% Domestic Violence Victims, 98% False Matrimonial Case victims, 74% False Rape Case Victims, 100% False Sexual Harassment at Workplace victims.

Other data not available MUST not be assumed to be ZERO. Just that since Indian law does not even regard Rape of Man / Sexual Harassment at Workplace of Man / Domstic Violence of Man / Physical-Verbal-Emotional-Economic-Sexual abuse of Man at Homes-Marriages.

Try and goto a Police Station to file a complaint that your wife/sister/mother has hit you and tell me please which section under which your complaint is accepted.

What I am sharing is not a challenge but a reality check request.

      • I agree to your above point but the fact remains,I am talking here about the atrocities on Women,Do you find such atrocities happening on Men?Even if the Data is not available it cannot be denied that such things will go unnoticed. As for filing a Police Complaint, they don’t even bother to file a simple robbery case and you are expecting them to file such case….
I don’t know if you are from India or not but nevertheless being a Man I don’t like I am subjected to any kind of Atrocities just like the Women of my age are being subjected…Even foreign women tourist strictly say know to India,Why?But that doesn’t happen with a male tourist,If you think Indian Men are subjected to more Violence then why don’t you come up with some ideas to stop it.I assure that I will be with you to fight such crimes…as because I am doing my bit to make this society a better place to live in…

      • Sorry Harsha, since Indians are tuned to be feminist since birth, we tend to ignore all such news.

For your benefit and for all those who feel that #CrimeAgainstMan doesnt happen, here are few links: http://sffdelhitrainingsessions.blogspot.in/2013/05/NEWS-COLLECTIVE.html

Please understand that media, which has huge amount of money flowing in from Women Organizations, only incidents of Crime Against Women.

Do you know that there are 48 biased Anti-Male Laws in India?

Are you aware that for last 20 years, Husband suicide is double to that of wives and biggest reason is false Matrimonial cases?

Are you aware that Adultery laws of India give immunity to the wife but not to Husband?

Do you know that Men in India are ONLY shouldered with responsibilities and no right (irnoically, no one talks about their rights too)?

Do you know that Men in India are denied bail just on the ground of being male?

Do you know that in court proceedings, inspite of proving his innocense, a man is forced to pay 15 lakhs as settelement fees?

Do you know the trauma that a #falseRape victim or a #False498A victim or a #FalseDV victim has to go through just after filing of case and ever after (even when they are acquitted)?

Do you know that India is the only country to have Gender Biased Sexual Harassment At Workplace Bill? Even Pakistan has a Gender Neutral Law.

Do you know that law makers of India have openly said that, “now it is turn of men to suffer”, while drafting laws?

Do you know that Matirmonial Laws in India are drafted on behest of Women Organizations. WHY?
