The following lines were written by a well-known Assamese Music Director “Manas Robin“. I in no way the owner of these beautiful lines and I just compiled the lines into English.
All Thanks to Manas Robin for writing such wonderful lines in Assamese…When I listened to them for the first time I was so impressed that I decide to write them in English..
P.S.–This is not any kind of Poetry or whatever as I know poetry is not my kind of Tea,Coffee,Biscuit etc,So I never tried my hands on them and These Lines should be considered as Gratitude to Manas Robin…All Credits to him.. 🙂
So,Here it Goes.. :-)..I don’t know How Good or Bad it sounds in English but the Assamese Lines are really amazing
“I don’t know
how many Peoples’ dream
sees the reality;
But knows only one thing,
All People have Dreams;
Sometimes I feel Dream is like a Tree
Dreams Sprout,Dreams grow Roots
Dreams Become Big day by day
Dreams change Leaves,change Textures;
One Day even Dreams Become Old,
Sometimes Dreams Break Too
And Broken Dreams hurt us
Hurt our Heart pretty bad;
But all that does stop our Life?
Never Never I guess”
To Go with it..Here is Photo of a Flower I took when I visited Lalbagh,Bangalore.
If by any Chance you know the name of the Flower Please mention it in the comment.. 🙂

And To me I dream because I believe in fulfilling my dreams..For me Dreams are nothing but our Desires.. 🙂
Yes you are right…..Dreams are really our desires but some desires can be fulfilled but dreams can come true !
Thank you for this translation. It reminded me of something written by Langston Hughes: “Hold onto dreams, for if dreams die, life is like a broken-winged bird that cannot fly.”
Thanks Theresa for dropping by and also writing these wonderful lines.. 🙂
Nice translation 🙂

Thanks a Lot for such a nice and encouraging comment.. 🙂
We nurture a dream and the very hope of its fulfillment keeps us going, though often it is shattered. The lines of the poem appeal to the mind. The flower nicely symbolizes the euphoria of the dream.

Thanks a Lot for dropping by and Liking the lines.. 🙂
And Yes Dreams come and Go..Some we fulfill,some we don’t but unfulfilled dreams hurt us sometimes..
Nice lines in English; as I don’t know Assamese, well done TRANSLATOR! 😀

Lovely song or poem. I want to add here something too. When old dreams die and if our soul is still alive, we will start weaving new dreams. That’s human nature.

Ah I’d call it a ” Flower called Dream’ for this post. Yknow my blind son cannot see dreams, as we call it, but lately he started talking of dreams, like we do. I asked him, what did you see… ? He talked of touch and smells and sounds and some amount of light … was he making it up to be part of our world, I will soon know… but so much happens when we sleep. My fav dream is one of flying… when I wake up that, my personality is different… 🙂
I guess your Son is not making it up…Obviously your son is Imagining the world around in his dream and once he is able to see he will realize whatever he smelled,touch really does make sense.. 🙂
Thanks for Dropping by and Also giving it a so nice Title.. 🙂
Ah yes… 🙂 and also maybe we should call the flower : Harsha’s Dream.
Hahaha…I guess that would suit better.. 🙂
such a nice share … feeling inspired to do same sometime 🙂
Yup you should try..And I guess u r kind of poetic so that wouldn’t be a problem.. 🙂

Ok in case u don’t know the name..Here it is “Marigold”..
Ab bhool mat jana.. 🙂
Marigold .. will remember !:)
Arey sun na tera rank aaya kya Indi mein?
haan aya na !
This is a very good effort Harsha! There are many proficient writers in India who write beautiful things in their own regional language! But most of their works do not have a vast outreach due to language limitations.I am so glad that you shared these beautiful lines of Manas with all of us 🙂
Thanks a Lot Jaseema for appreciating this.. 🙂
BTW Sab tarrif Manas Robin ki aur mere Tarrif mein kuch bhi nahi.. 😛
After all I translated this to English and the Photograph is also taken by me.. 😛
