Meteor 350-A Enfield above the Rest

Riding has always been my leisure time. I ride and I feel myself though I am not a habitual rider but riding is the event that I love, be it a ride to my Hometown or to my Office or just roaming around the city, it is my pleasure to cruise all day long.

Since I like cruising no matter where, I had a proper cruising motorcycle and that was-“Bajaj Avenger 220” the only and affordable Cruiser Motorcycle with decent power until late 2020 and with arrival of “Royal Enfield Meteor 350” things were about to change.

I saw the Meteor 350 and was quick to book one-The top of the line model i.e. The Supernova and with around 2.3 Lacs on Road price in Assam it was I would not say a deal breaker but a deal worthy for an upgrade. With an waiting period of 3 months my hands restless, itching to put my hands on the “Meteor Supernova Brown 350” and finally the day arrived, received a mail from Royal Enfield as well as a call from the Showroom and I was quick to rush to the showroom and complete all the formalities.

After all was done, the first ride from the Showroom to my House, a small ride of around 8kms was pure bliss. The moment I started the Bike and the sound of the exhaust reached my eardrum I was like “Am I listening to any kind of Music” and when I rode it for that short 8 Kms I knew I had made a decision that I am never ever going to regret. An Enfield truly above the rest is what has been made by RE.

Bajaj Avenger Street220 Review

Bajaj Avenger Street220 500km review..

A bike I always dreamed making mine when it was first launched somewhere around 2005…That dream came to reality on 2014 November when I got my first Avenger 220 and after driving it for one year and around 23k kms,I never had any issues with it..and it remained close to my heart and I always make sure to keep it clean and out of any mechanical error…

Recently Bajaj launched updated version of Avenger namely Avenger Street 220 & 150,Avenger Cruise 220.So without wasting any time I went ahead and upgraded my year old Avenger 220 to Avenger Street220 and having driven it for 5 days and above 500kms,I thought of writing about it more or less like a review.. ;-).

Many Says “Your First impression is the last impression” and Street220 did make it all right, with its look alike Harley-Davidson Street750 styling mainly targeting the Indian Youth, all matte black coating,12 and 9 spoke alloy wheel both at front and rear respectively, reduced height of handle bar, more or less tear shaped fuel tank and not to mention its all new “Avenger Insignia” inscribed at the handle-bar and in both side of the fuel tank.

Coming to the electricals,Bajaj did make changes in that department too, with digital-analog meter and Baja illuminated logo,The Headlight is more brighter and it remains on even after the engine is turned off,a feature not available with the previous one.Placements of the all switch remains the same with left side having the Horn,Indicator and Pass switch and right side is equipped with Self,Light and Engine Kill switch,However I would have loved to see radium switches like those in Pulsars..

Ride quality in my opinion is better than the previous one, with no vibrations at all even at 3 digit figure speed, there has also been refinement with the engine and now it produces a sweet lovely sound, not like the Harley though,Mileage what I am getting now is around 42kmpl(Hope it improves more after 1st servicing).Bajaj have fine tuned the shock absorbers too but they could have done a little bit more, but that is not a huge set back..With the street version maneuvering through city streets is a piece of cake and cruising the highway is lot more fun..There has been no changes with the brakes with Front 260mm Disc and Rear Drum brakes but surely the brakes of this version are better than the previous one.Riding posture was always a plus point for Avenger and the same is true with this version, but the pillion seat is not that much comfortable with the removal of pillion back rest.

All in all Bajaj did manage a great job with this new variants and certainly driving one of them always “Feels Like God”
