So,This year Durga Puja came to an end on 14th October as Bijoya Dashami being the last day when The Durga Maa is immersed in water,As being in Bangalore I didn’t have the opportunity to see much of Durga Puja which I did back in my Home…So this time Me and few of My Friends decided to go somewhere else–though related to God,So after a bit of discussion we ended up deciding to Visit a Shiv Temple, which is what they say a Great Display of Architecture.. 😀
Well to start of this Shiv Temple is sure visit if you are in Bangalore. It is at Murugeshpalya, just next to Total Mall–A 10 minutes walk from “The Leela Palace” hotel.
And Going through The Photographs of this temple will surely make you to visit this Temple.. 😀
The Temple is in the Vicinity of the City,so it is very easy to get to this temple and can be easily reached using private or public transport…. 😀
The Temple is very beautifully built,Upon Entering we will see the Ganesha Deity–The Son of Lord Shiva(And One of my Favorite Deity),Generally known as Vighna Vinasha and The reason we see Lord Ganesha at the start of many temple is because According to Hindu Mythology Lord Shiva once gave him Vardan(Blessing) saying that no prayers would not be considered complete if Lord Ganesha is not worshiped at the beginning.
We offered prayer and moved on to The Lord Shiva Deity..The way to the deity is built like a cave with inscriptions on the wall of different famous Shiv Temples found in India,But we have to pay 30INR to get to the Deity, infact entering the temple main gate will cost you 2INR and Camera charge is 25INR,I guess even God’s are not away from Commercialization.. 😉
The Way to Lord Shiva..
Now Finally we reach the Main Shiva Statue,But once again you have to pay 20INR for a closer look at the statue and get the blessing, funny how everything is commercialized..But we will love to see the 65ft tall Shiva statue sitting in Yogic position and believe me it will give you a feeling of being in Kailash(Home of Lord Shiva, according to myth)
All in All it was pretty relaxing experience visiting this temple and though I am not so religious,I love visiting Place of Worship. So,If you are in Bangalore or have visited Bangalore, this place is a must visit though avoid going on Mondays if you want some peace as there will be huge rush during Mondays,We went during evening and got to attend the evening Aarti,so if you can attend that. There is also provision for special entry which is 50INR if you hate standing in Queues.
So Guys,What do you think about this Temple and The Architecture–I guess it is Amazing and a Must visit place.. 😀
