The October Month is the festive time well almost all over the World,But as we all know India is full of Culture and Tradition,so here the festive months gets a whole lot new meaning and October being the month of celebration of Durga Puja or Navaratri,India becomes colorful more than ever.. đ
Durga Puja–A festival that embarks worship of Goddess Durga and is celebrated for 6 six days.Durga Puja festival marks the victory of Goddess Durga over the evil buffalo demon Mahishasura. Thus, Durga Puja festival epitomises the victory of Good over Evil.
This festival is widely celebrated across the eastern part of India namely West Bengal,Assam,Orissa,Bihar and Tripura.
So,I wish all the people a Very Happy Durga Puja and I wish may Goddess Durga once again defeats the Evil.

The reason I started blogging was because I wanted to put some lights on North East India Tourism,from time to time I have written about NE India in this blog but I felt I was not doing enough as this blog is almost about everything I feel like Blogging… đ
Since I started blogging I tried my hands on many thing and to most extent I have done well I believe,but the Sole Purpose of starting All Resource was somehow overlooked by me as I know the potential of NE India and there will be endless topic to write about them..

It’s time for us to visit another North-Eastern state known as Tripura.It is the Third smallest state in India bordering with Bangladesh to the North,South and West and Assam and Mizoram to the East.
The Capital City of Tripura is Agartala and is the second largest city in NE India after Guwahati.Just like other North Eastern State there is much more to see here in Tripura also especially the Natural Beauty it exhibits.Tripura is home to many  Indigenous communities with Bengalis making up the population of Tripura.
The main languages spoken in Tripura is Bengali and Kokborok though Hindi and English is also spoken to some extent.Tripura is well connected by Roads from Assam and also has an Airport known as Agartala Airport which has daily flights to most of the cities in India.Till 2009 there was no Rail Transport present in Tripura but a rail connection was established between the capital Agartala and Lumding junction in Assam.

Agartala-Being the Capital city there are so many places to see in and around Agartala and most to them are very well connected.The following are the places of interest in and around Agartala.
Ujjayanta Palace-It is a former royal palace in Agartala,now serve as the meeting of Tripura Legislative Assembly. This palace was named by the Nobel laureate,Rabindranath Tagore.Ujjayanta Palace remained unoccupied, unless it started playing its current role as the State Legislative Building.The palace is not usually open to public.
Tripura State  Museum-Located in the heart of Agartala city on the HGB Road, Tripura State Museum was founded in 1970. Showcased at the museum are epigraph numismatic evidence and a few rare stone images that reveal the stories of Tripura’s glorious past. Historic old coins of various denomination and archaeological articles are also preserved in this museum.

Tribal Museum–Â This Museum displays exhibits detailing the history and culture of 19 tribes of Tripura. It is located behind the tourist office in Agartala and is managed by the Tribal Research Institute.
UmaMaheswar Temple–Umamaheswar Temple is one of the many temples, which are housed inside the complex of Ujjayanta Palace. As a matter of fact, Tripura is greatly influenced by West Bengal; hence, the Gods and Goddesses in the two states resemble each other.
Jagannath Temple–A Temple inside the premises of Ujjayanta Palace dedicated to dedicated to the Hindu Gods Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra.Open to travellers in the present time,this temple replicated the rich architectural heritage of Agartala. Orange in colour,the temple has an octagonal base and the pillars are crowned by square and pyramidal cones.

Kunjaban Palace–A green hillock known as Kunjaban ( a bower) for its scenic beauty stands to the north of Ujjayanta palace at a distance of about 1 Km. Maharaja Birendra Kishore Manikya (1909-1923) selected this beautiful place for building a suburban palace for retreat and constructed a palace in 1917 which was named as âPushbanta Palaceâ.
Tripura Heritage Park–It is an oasis of serenity,It takes the visitor to a surreal world, providing a glimpse of the natural and cultural heritage of Tripura. Its natural undulating terrain, in the backdrop of majestic eucalyptus, acacia and litchi trees, greet visitors and takes them to an environment rich in tranquility. The park abounds in a variety of indigenous plants and trees.

Unakoti–It is Shaiba pilgrimage and dates back to 7th â 9th centuries if not earlier. The marvelous rock carvings, murals with their primitive beauty, waterfalls are not to be missed. Unakoti means one less than a crore and it is said that these many rock cut carvings are available here.It is located at 178 k.m. from Agartala and 8 k.m. from Kailashahar, district headquarter of North Tripura District.

Pilak– Many idols and structures, belonging to Buddhist and Hindu sects,have been discovered there since 1927. The archeological site used to be a part of Samatata kingdom in historical Bengal, and is part of a series of archeological sites. The Archaeological Survey of India is responsible for maintenance of the site.Also treasure house of Hindu and Buddhist Sculpture. It dates back to 8th and 9th centuries.It is located around 100km from Agartala.

Tripura Sundari Temple-It is believed to be one of the holiest Hindu shrines in this part of the country. Popularly known as Matabari, crowns in a small hillock and is served by the red-robed priests who traditionally, minister to the mother goddess Tripura Sundari. Considered to be one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, consists of a square type sanctum of the typical Bengali hut. It is believed that Sati’s right foot fell here during Lord Shiva’s Nataraj Dance. The temple consist a square type sanctum with a conical dome.Located at a distance of around 50-55 km from Agartala and 3 km from Udaipur.

Fourteen Goddess Temple or Chaturdasa Temple–A hindu temple built in honour of fourteen Gods and Goddessess, together called the Chaturdasha Devata,by King Krishna Manikya Debbarma of Tripura and these deities are ceremoniously worshipped during Kharchi Puja.The Kokborok names of the fourteen deities are Lampra, Akhatra, Bikhatra, Burasa, Thumnairok, Bonirok, Sangroma, Mwtaikotor, Twima, Songram, Noksumwtai, Mailuma, Khuluma and Swkalmwtai.It is located about 14 Km. away from Agartala at a place called Old Agartala.

Neermahal–A good combination of Hindu and Mughal architecture is noticed on the domes of the palace. There are mainly two parts of the palace – one on the western side known as Andar Mahal which was used by the royal family and another on the eastern side which was used for the security personnel and servants.The palace is the 2nd largest of its kind in India after the Jalmahal in Rajasthan and the only one in Eastern India. There are only two water palace in India.Known as âlake palaceâ of Tripura, Neer-Mahal was constructed as a summer residence.It is located at a distance of 53 km from Agartala.

Bhuvaneswari Temple-It is situated on the bank of Gomati at Udaipur in Tripura.The temple of Bhubaneswari at Tripura was built by Maharaja Govinda Manikya, is located near the old Royal palace of Maharaja Govinda Manikya constructed during 1660-1675 A.D.It is located around 55 km from Agartala.

Trishna Wildlife Sanctuary–The main attractions of this Sanctuary is the Bison and Migratory Birds.This Sanctuary covers an area of 160 sq.kms.Located at an distance of 100 km from Agartala in Belonia Subdivision of South Tripura District.

Deotamura-Deotamura is famous for its panels of rock carvings on the steep mountain wall on the bank of Gomati. There are huge carved images of Shiva, Vishnu, Kartikeya, Mahisasur Mardini Durga and other gods and goddesses.This is also called Chabi Mura.These images date back to 15th-16th centuries.It is around 75 km from Agartala.
Dumboor Lake–A water area of 41 sq.km with 48 islands surrounded by luxuriant green vegetation.Water sports facilities are additional attractions.There is a Hydel Project near the lake from where the River Gomati originates and this is called Tirthamukh where on 14 January every year famous ‘Pous Sankranti Mela’ takes place. The lake is the confluence of rivers Raima and Sarma. Various species of migratory birds are noticed in the winter and it has rich reservoir of natural and cultured fishes.It is situated at a distance of 120 km from Agartala in Amarpur which is full of natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere.

Rudrasagar Lake–It has been identified as one of the wetlands of National Importance for conservation and sustainable use based on its bio-diversity and socio economic importance by GOI’s ministry of Environment and Forest.In the centre of the lake the famous lake palace of Tripura namely Neermahal is built.The lake witnesses a large number of migratory birds in every winter. Every year a boat race is organised in July/August. The visiting tourists can enjoy boating facility in the lake.It is located around 55 km away from Agartala.
Rudrasagar Lake
Kamalasagar-A vast artificial lake on the edge of the border with Bangladesh was excavated by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya in 15th century. On the river bank of kamalasagar, there is a famous temple of Goddess Kali dating back to 16th century. It is one of the excellent picnic spots in the state with scenic beauty.It is at a distance of 35 km from Agartala.

Jampui Hill–Famous for its charming landscape and bracing climate,the permanent seat of eternal spring is situated at an altitude of 3000 feet above sea level.The excellent climatic condition, green forests, beautiful orange garden,view of raising and setting sun are wonderful sight for tourists.

The list of Places to see in Tripura does not end here as there is much more to see and explore.To reach Tripura one can take a Bus from Guwahati,or a Train from Lumding or even a flight from Kolkata,Guwahati or any other Cities in India.No Entry Permit is required to visit Tirpura for Indians or as well as foreigners.Best time to visit Tripura is between October to May as the weather is pleasant that time.For More information please visit-
Off late I have not been writing about North-East India my place though I created this blog to write about anything that cross my mind but with more emphasis on North East India as I wanted people to know about my place,its beauty,its serenity.
As we all know NE India is composed of Seven Sister State-Assam,Arunachal,Manipur,Mizoram,Meghalaya,Nagaland and Tripura and the Himalayan State of Sikkim.Here I will try to show some if not all the places of interest in NE India.So Here I go.
1.Assam-It is one of the largest state in NE and Guwahati being the largest city and gateway of NE India.Here is the list of some Places to see in Guwahati.
Guwahati is also a great shopping destination in NE with all the traditional dresses available like Muga Silk,Eri Silk,Pat Silk and even we can find all types of modern dresses which is available at affordable price.Guwahati also has a wide variates of cuisines to offer from the entire NE where one can have the taste of authentic NE dishes.
